Strategic National CEO John Yob released the following statement:
“Matt DePerno and Kristina Karamo have built huge leads in the upcoming GOP State Convention. Karama has a large majority at 57% and is well positioned for a first ballot victory.
The DePerno lead has grown to 13 points following the Trump rally and his efforts to unite various factions of the party. Polling shows that Republicans believe Matt DePerno is the most electable candidate given Tom Leonard’s loss in 2018. Berman is gaining on Leonard but it is unlikely that he catches him in time.
This polling does not take into account the hundreds of MAGA supporters who will be storming the county conventions and asking to be elected either Delegates or Alternates to the State Convention. We anticipate this lead will grow from 13 points to a landslide victory once state convention delegates are elected on April 11th.
Simply put: this convention is not going to be close. It is long past time for the Republican Party to unite behind Matt DePerno. It is obvious to anyone who understands the convention math that Matt DePerno will win with a very large margin.”
The poll consisted of 2020-22 elected Precinct Delegates as well as individuals identified as “Hardworking Republicans” and selected as 2021 state convention delegates. We anticipate between 15% and 30% of state convention delegates are people new to the process who are not currently elected Precinct Delegates.
Strategic National is assisting Matt DePerno for Attorney General and has a tremendously strong record in convention fights with a record of 61-1 dating back to 1998. The survey had a sample size of 300 and the Congressional District weighting can be found below.
